Position Overview


We are seeking an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented HR Clerk to support the daily operations of our Human Resources Department. The HR Clerk will help identify the agency’s staffing needs and work closely with the Staffing Department to recruit, process, and hire qualified caregivers, nurses, and office personnel.


This position is also responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, processing employment documentation, responding to application inquiries, and supporting other human resources functions. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, protect confidential information, and manage multiple responsibilities accurately and efficiently.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and current employee records, including personal information, credentials, certifications, and employment documents.
  • Review employee files regularly to identify missing, incomplete, or expired documentation.
  • Identify staffing needs and coordinate with the Staffing Department to recruit qualified personnel.
  • Post job openings and source qualified applicants through approved recruitment platforms.
  • Review and screen résumés and employment applications.
  • Contact applicants regarding their application status, missing documentation, interviews, and next steps in the hiring process.
  • Schedule interviews, orientations, background checks, and other pre-employment requirements.
  • Process employment applications and all documentation required for hiring.
  • Assist applicants with completing employment forms and required onboarding documents.
  • Verify that required licenses, certifications, background checks, and other credentials are received and current.
  • Enter and update employee information in applicable HR, payroll, scheduling, and recordkeeping systems.
  • Maintain organized electronic and paper employee files.
  • Respond professionally to employment-related questions and application-status inquiries.
  • Protect confidential employee and agency information.
  • Assist with employee onboarding, orientation, and other HR-related tasks as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with the Human Resources Department, Staffing Department, Nursing Department, and agency leadership.
  • Perform additional administrative and human resources duties as needed.


Minimum Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in an administrative or human resources support position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong data-entry and computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous human resources or recruitment experience in a home care or healthcare setting.
  • Experience maintaining employee files and tracking licenses, certifications, and other employment credentials.
  • Knowledge of caregiver and nursing recruitment, onboarding, and employment documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
