Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Maintenance Assistant, you'll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized. This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards.Every day, you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, or dusting. You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility. This role requires you to learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You may also refill soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and other supplies, as well as deliver clean linens.To be successful in this role, you are thorough and committed to safety. You truly are the most important component contributing to the safety and comfort of our patients, visitors, and staff.   • Performs general building maintenance and assists with painting, plumbing, electrical, cleaning, and other facility projects as directed.
  • Paints interior and exterior areas; assembles, installs, moves, and maintains office furniture, files, cabinets, pictures, hooks, and related fixtures.
  • Performs general housekeeping, grounds maintenance, litter removal, sweeping, pressure washing, steam cleaning, and recycling duties as assigned.
  • Performs minor preventive maintenance and repairs on hospital, kitchen, and facility equipment under the guidance of a Maintenance Engineer; maintains tools, equipment, and work areas in safe operating condition.
  • Assists with facility projects and work orders, including setting up and adjusting classrooms and meeting spaces according to requested layouts and providing support to other trades as needed.
  • Orders, receives, and obtains parts and materials required for repairs; maintains purchase orders and related documentation and ensures necessary supplies are available to complete work.

Required

  • One year of recent building maintenance work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.
