Description

Cloud Ten has an opening for a Laboratory Technologist role within our cannabis quality control laboratory. This position is

responsible for performing critical testing to evaluate product safety and compliance, supporting

scientists in daily operations, and maintaining quality control procedures. If you have a

Key Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Laboratory Manager and Cannabis Scientists, the Laboratory

Technologist will:

  • Conduct laboratory testing, including Potency (HPLC), Pesticides (LCMS/GCMS), Heavy
  • Metals (ICP-MS), Residual Solvents and Terpenes (GCMS), moisture content, water activity, and microbial analysis (PCR).
  • Assist with sample intake, preparation, and analysis to support quality control and research initiatives.
  • Perform and analyze Certificates of Analysis (CoA) and Research & Development (R&D testing.
  • Prioritize workload to maintain state-regulated turnaround times.
  • Evaluate raw data for accuracy, identify and correct discrepancies, and perform confirmatory testing when needed.
  • Maintain and clean laboratory instrumentation.
  • Follow quality control processes, ensuring compliance with internal and external audit standards (ISO 17025 guidelines).
  • Maintain accurate records, including maintenance logs, and laboratory documentation.
  • Stay up to date on laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) and participate in ongoing training.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or related science (or equivalent experience/training) OR Two (2) years laboratory experience
  • Familiarity with quantitative analysis, chromatography techniques (PCR, HPLC, GCMS), or ISO 17025 standards is a plus.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • The role involves sitting, standing, and occasional lifting (up to 70 lbs).
  • Work is conducted in a laboratory setting with moderate noise levels.
  • Proper PPE and safety protocols must be followed at all times.

Required Education:

  • Minimum requirement:
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or related science.


Preferred requirement:

Laboratory personnel should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or related science with undergraduate course work that covers quantitative analysis along with HPLC theory and practice. However, commensurate job-related training and experience may be substituted. Prior experience in a cannabis laboratory is preferred.


Required Certification/License: None

Required Work Experience: 1 + year(s) of experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.
