JOB SUMMARY

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, with overtime as needed.

This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning, janitorial, and basic building maintenance tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment throughout both office and production areas of the facility.

This position may require occasional work outside of regular business operating hours, with advance notice, to perform tasks such as floor stripping and waxing, carpet cleaning, and other deep-cleaning activities.

This is a temporary-to-hire position through a staffing agency. Candidates must successfully meet all position requirements and complete a minimum of 480 hours worked before becoming eligible for direct hire consideration.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS

1. Housekeeping

  • Utilizes and complies with the Quality Management System
  • Wash/strip/wax/carpet clean floors in both the office and on the production floor 
  • Operate floor maintenance equipment
  • Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies
  • Stock and maintain dispensers (soap, paper towel, bathroom tissue)
  • Remove rubbish and operate compactor 
  • Willing and able to obtain fork truck driver’s license
  • Clean break rooms and restrooms
  • Clean walls, counters, glass, rugs, carpets, etc. 
  • Ensure floor is swept and rugs are vacuumed daily in the main employee entrance
  • Clean the windows in the doors in the main employee entrance daily 
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the outside break area (i.e. Pick up any trash and debris, empty trash barrels) 
  • Sweep main aisles through manufacturing on a regular basis (all departments) 
  • Use floor-cleaning machine on main aisles of manufacturing on weekly basis 
  • Empty recycling containers
  • Move full water jugs to water stations throughout facility and remove empty jugs
  • Maintain a clean and debris-free facility 
  • Load empty paint barrels on to pallets and move to south end of building for pick up 

2. Other Duties 

                    Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Qualifications 

  • Fork truck experience - highly preferred 
  • Prior industrial or business janitorial experience - highly preferred 
  • Prior house cleaning experience in a business capacity - highly preferred
  • Prior experience using industrial machinery for stripping, waxing, washing - highly preferred

RELATIONSHIPS

This Position Reports to

Production Supervisor but takes work direction from Maintenance Technician(s) 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT 

This position will be required to frequently sit, utilize hand and finger dexterity, talk, and hear. This position requires the incumbent to frequently walk. The incumbent may occasionally be required to lift up to 50 pounds. This role frequently goes into all departments of the building office setting and the production floor where machinery is run.
