Position Overview
The Loss Prevention Manager plays a critical role in protecting UniGroup’s operations by identifying trends, minimizing loss, and driving proactive solutions across our network. This role combines analytical problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership to reduce risk and improve overall service outcomes.
This individual will lead loss prevention efforts by analyzing root causes of claims, developing actionable strategies, and advising agents and internal teams on best practices. Success in this role requires strong judgment, the ability to navigate complex and sensitive situations, and a data-driven approach to improving performance across the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Lead loss prevention efforts, including root cause analysis and development of strategies to reduce loss and damage
- Guide and support team members in managing property damage, shipment discrepancies, and subrogation activities
- Partner with agents, carriers, and internal teams to mitigate risk, especially for high-value or high-risk shipments
- Support the resolution of complex or escalated claims, including investigations involving theft or significant loss
- Analyze trends and operational data to identify risks and recommend corrective actions
- Advise on loss prevention policies and contribute to improvements that reduce frequency and severity of claims
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Claims, Safety, Customer Care, Legal, and Operations
- Monitor partner performance and provide recommendations to improve results and accountability
- Support the development of training materials, tools, and resources to enhance loss prevention practices
- Participate in meetings, presentations, and industry events to share insights and best practices
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in loss prevention, claims, logistics, or a related field
- 2+ years of leadership or management experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex or sensitive situations
- Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the moving, storage, or transportation industry
- Familiarity with cargo claims, subrogation, or risk management practices
