YOUR NEW ROLE AS A WEST MICHIGAN PROPERTY AREA MANAGER

You'll work a straight 8-hour shift each day, Monday through Friday, typically between 7 am and 5 pm (specific start times may vary by site). Your day begins from your own home. No need to report to a central office, allowing you to travel directly to the communities you support. On rare occasions, you may respond to an emergency on-call situation.

As a West Michigan Property Area Manager, you will act as a peer coach, guiding and supporting site managers and staff, including maintenance teams. You will help track vacancies, monitor capital projects, and resolve rent discrepancies, always keeping the corporate team informed. You will train staff on new processes, ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and foster best practices across your portfolio. Your leadership will be collaborative, never disciplinary, as you work closely with teams to strengthen operations and build success.


WEST MICHIGAN PROPERTY AREA MANAGER REQUIREMENTS

  • Affordable housing property management experience
  • Fair housing training or certification
  • Understanding of compliance rules, laws, and processes (at least minimal level)
  • Ability to travel regularly within assigned area using your own vehicle
  • Experience coaching peers or working in a leadership capacity (preferred)
  • Additional compliance certifications or knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, or Rural Development regulations (preferred)
