Position Summary:
The Laser Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining Bystronic fiber laser cutting machines to produce high-quality parts efficiently and safely. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Bystronic fiber laser cutting machines, including systems with auto loaders
- Load and unload raw sheet metal materials
- Monitor machine performance to ensure optimal cutting quality and efficiency
- Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain cut quality (speed, focus, gas, etc.)
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy, burrs, and defects
- Perform basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance on laser equipment
- Remove cut parts from sheets and assist with breakout as needed
- Sort, stack, and label finished parts according to job requirements
- Manage scrap material and keep work area clean and organized
- Work collaboratively with other operators to keep machines running efficiently
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications:
- Prior experience operating laser cutting equipment (Bystronic experience preferred)
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read work orders and part drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Good attendance and reliability are a must
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
