Job DetailsJob Location: Fincastle, VA 24090Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: 1st ShiftJob Title: 3rd Shift Molder Maintenance Technician – Will Train on 1st Shift    Band VI Job Summary: The Molder / Mold Technician supports the maintenance and repair of molds used in injection molding to ensure they meet production standards. This role involves assisting with mold cleaning, performing basic repairs, conducting inspections, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment to support production goals.   Key Responsibilities: Assist in routine mold maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement, to ensure molds are production ready. Support basic mold repairs, such as replacing minor parts or addressing small defects, under supervision. Conduct basic inspections of molds to identify wear or damage, reporting findings to supervisors. Assist in troubleshooting minor mold issues, such as sticking or alignment problems. Adhere to safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and compliance with OSHA regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work area, performing housekeeping tasks to support a safe environment. Record basic maintenance activities, such as cleaning or inspection logs, as directed. Assist in tracking mold parts, tools, and supplies to support maintenance tasks. Participate in on-the-job training to develop skills in mold maintenance and repair. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support mold maintenance and meet production goals. QualificationsQualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in manufacturing or mechanics preferred. Experience: 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in mold maintenance or injection molding (on-the-job training provided). Technical Skills: Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn mold maintenance and repair techniques. Other Skills: Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, basic computer skills for data entry, and a commitment to safety and quality. Certifications: RJG Fundamentals of Injection Molding or similar certifications are a plus.   Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift from 50-75 lbs., and work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and chemicals.   Work Environment: Full-time position in a manufacturing facility, with potential for shift work, including nights or weekends, depending on production needs. May require occasional on-call availability for emergency repairs.   Salary Range: $21.20 to $24.53, depending on experience.
