About the Role

The Assistant Event Coordinator for Independent Living is responsible for providing outstanding customer service white executing events, planned by the Event Coordinator. This person is also responsible for overseeing a comprehensive activities program that enhances the quality of life for residents. the Assistant Event Coordinator will be expected to be able to pivot between a variety of activities while maintaining an energetic disposition. This person will have a positive and encouraging attitude no matter the task. The right person for this job will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and will also be someone who strives for excellent in all they do, no matter the task. This role focuses on creating engaging, educational and therapeutic activities tailored to the diverse needs and interests of the Independent Living community. Activities involve local trips to museums, parks concerts, restaurants and also in-house activities like bingo, trivia, crafts, games and more, all of which are appropriate for Independent Living Senior Citizens. This position has a routine that is different every day and includes tasks such as making posters, picking up activity supplies and more. Ultimately, the Assistant Event Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering a vibrant, supportive environment that promotes resident engagement and satisfaction. Must be willing to obtain a chauffeurs license.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute the programs that cater to the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of independent living residents.
  • Lead group activities, outings, and special events that encourage social interaction and community involvement, planned by the Event Coordinator.
  • Ability to see what might be needed for programming without being told.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and Canva to create promotional materials for activities and events.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have experience in event planning and program development or hospitality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and also Canva.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage residents, families, and staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in hospitality industry or senior living community.
