VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center is looking to add an enthusiastic and dedicated Veterinary Technician Trainer to our growing Training Team!

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technician Trainer – Surgery & Anesthesia to support the onboarding, training, and professional development of our Veterinary Technicians and Assistants. This role will focus primarily on the Surgery department, while also providing training support across all surgical specialties (including Neurology, Ophthalmology, and Emergency) and Anesthesia for all hospital departments.
The Technician Trainer will play a key role in fostering an organized, supportive, and engaging learning environment by developing structured training programs, delivering hands-on instruction, and creating opportunities for continuous education and growth. This position works closely with hospital leadership to support long-term technician advancement and elevate patient care standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support new employee training during the established onboarding program.
  • Provide organized, hands-on, one-on-one training across all hospital departments, with a primary focus on Surgery and Anesthesia.
  • Develop and mentor in-house trainers to provide on-the-floor support for new team members.
  • Initiate and facilitate in-house continuing education (CE) opportunities, including journal clubs, wet/dry labs, and scheduled lectures, leveraging the expertise of DVMs, Technicians, and Assistants.
  • Partner with hospital leadership to develop and implement long-term technician advancement strategies based on hospital needs and goals.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Strong knowledge of specialty and emergency veterinary procedures and protocols.

  • Registered Veterinary Technician- CVT, LVT, RVT 

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to engage and motivate others in a fast-paced environment.

  • Passion for teaching and professional development.

Compensation: Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. 

Schedule: Full-time opportunity. The position requires scheduling flexibility.
