THE ROLEÂ
Fishers Event Center has an excellent and immediate opening for a part-time Zamboni Driver. Zamboni Drivers maintain the quality and safety of the ice surface along with resurfacing for preparation for various activities and ensuring a positive experience for guests.Â
Â
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesÂ
Prepare ice for all practices, games and other ice events. This includes removing debris, checking ice depth, scraping, edging, resurfacing ice and maintenance of spectator nettingÂ
Operate and maintain the ice re-surface and ice-edger equipmentÂ
Repair and build iceÂ
Drive Zamboni during hockey games maintaining the ice to NHL standards.Â
Must be familiar with techniques for repairing and building ice around hockey goals and other areas that lose ice.Â
Perform general physical labor associated with set up and break down for events i.e. laying turf, installing basketball floor, making iceÂ
Maintain locker room areas.  Make repairs as directed by the Operations ManagerÂ
Operate a forklift truckÂ
Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule to produce accurate results and meet deadlinesÂ
May perform other duties as assignedÂ

Education and/or Experience          Â
HS diploma/GED preferred. Â
Previous facility operations experience a plus. Â
Â
Skills and Abilities  Â
Mechanical aptitude preferred. Â
Prior experience driving a Zamboni machine helpful.  Â
Must have access to reliable transportation.Â
Requires ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.Â
