About the Role:
The Molding Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by operating and maintaining plastic molding machinery to produce high-quality molded components. This position requires precision and attention to detail to ensure that all products meet strict specifications and quality standards. The operator will be responsible for setting up machines, monitoring production runs, and making necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency and reduce waste. Collaboration with quality control and maintenance teams is essential to troubleshoot issues and maintain smooth operations. Ultimately, the Molding Operator ensures that production targets are met while adhering to safety protocols and company guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating plastic molding machinery such as injection molding and blow molding equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and technical drawings.
- Basic knowledge of quality control procedures and use of measuring instruments like depth gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or formal training in plastic molding or manufacturing processes.
- Experience with press machines and trimming operations.
- Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on molding equipment.
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate plastic molding machines including injection molding, blow molding, and press machines according to work instructions.
- Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout the production cycle, making adjustments as needed to maintain specifications.
- Perform trimming and finishing operations on molded parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards.
- Use depth gauges and other measuring tools to verify product dimensions and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Distinguish and sort molded parts by color and type to maintain organized inventory and support downstream processes.
- Maintain accurate production records and report any machine malfunctions or quality issues to supervisors promptly.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe working environment.

Work instructions guide daily tasks, ensuring that the operator follows precise procedures to maintain product quality.
