About the Role 

To support U.S Urology by coordinating with the In-House Pharmacy dispensing activities, following company policies and procedures, to include pre-certing pharmacy benefits that meet the needs of the patient and physician.   

 

What You’ll Be Doing 
 

  • Responsible for proper documentation of precertification activities procedures 

  • Informs patient and appropriate others as to financial requirements  

  • Coordinates authorizations with third parties and ensures medications are ordered for patient treatments  

  • Collaborates with Physicians and staff to receive information related to patient’s pharmaceutical needs 

  • Collaborates with physician for approval to dispense medication 

  • Maintains adequate inventory; assists in development of appropriate par levels 

  • Interfaces with billing for coding and authorization corrections  

  • Posts all charges and payments in the practice management system and verifies and prepares bank deposit daily 

  • Maintains files for contacts and phone numbers for third party communication for all offices 

  • Considers patient rights, privacy, safety, and confidentiality in the performance of job duties and responsibilities 

  • Responds to emergency situations with competence and composure

  • Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers 

  • Willing to travel to other COUG locations for business needs 

  • Assists with Support Services when coverage is needed 

  • Maintains strictest confidentiality 

  • Performs related work as required 

 

What We Expect from You 

 

  • Three (3) years of experience working in a medical practice/pharmacy  

  • Previous experience with precertification and prior authorizations with third parties 

  • Pharmacy technician certification 

 

Reasoning Ability  

 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

 

Computer Skills 

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge in computer information systems.
