Job Title: Job Developer (5780) FLSA: Non- Exempt
Reports To: Division Director of Community Based and Employment Supports
Position Summary:
The Job Developer is responsible for developing competitive employment opportunities forÂ
individuals served by The Arc of Opportunity. The position focuses on employer outreach, job siteÂ
development, employment training, and community engagement to support individuals in obtainingÂ
and maintaining meaningful community-based employment. The Job Developer collaborates withÂ
program staff, job coaches, employers, and community partners to identify employmentÂ
opportunities and support individuals in achieving their vocational goals. The role also preparesÂ
individuals for employment through training programs, workshops, and career readiness activitiesÂ
while supporting employment outcomes through DDS employment supports and MassAbility
contracts and expanding employer partnerships.
Responsibilities:
• Develop employment opportunities for individuals served through employer outreach and jobÂ
site development.
• Network with employment boards, chambers of commerce, career centers, and localÂ
businesses to identify employment opportunities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with employers to understand workforce needs andÂ
create employment opportunities for individuals served.
• Present The Arc of Opportunity to employers as a workforce solution and promote theÂ
benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities.
• Collaborate with program staff and PCPMs to support individuals transitioning from program-
based services to employment opportunities.
• Assist in the development and implementation of employment readiness training programs.
• Facilitate workshops related to employment readiness including resume writing, interviewingÂ
skills, and workplace expectations.
• Coordinate business tours, career exploration opportunities, and community engagementÂ
activities.
• Provide job coaching support to individuals as needed to support successful employmentÂ
outcomes.
• Conduct task analysis and assist with job training as required.
• Utilize assistive technology and other tools to support skill development and increaseÂ
independence.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records related to employment services in accordanceÂ
with organizational policies and funding source requirements.
• Coordinate transportation or mobility training supports when needed.
• Demonstrate the agency’s mission and values in all interactions with individuals served,Â
families, employers, and community partners.
•• Achieve established program goals, performance expectations, and outcome measuresÂ
related to employment development, employer engagement, and successful job placementsÂ
• Attend required trainings and meetings as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• A valid driver’s license and acceptable CORI/SORI/driving record are required at all timesÂ
during employment with The Arc of Opportunity.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Services, Business, Rehabilitation, Education, or aÂ
related field.
• A minimum of three years of experience in employment services, job development,Â
workforce development, or related vocational support services is required.
• In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, three or more years of directly related experience in jobÂ
development, employment services, or workforce development may be substituted.
• Demonstrated experience building relationships with employers and community partners.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications and electronic documentation systems.
