Canvas is searching for a Tactical Operational Medicine Skills (TOMS) Training and Simulation Specialist to support activities at Hurlburt Field, FL. The individual will assist AFSOC/SG and TOMS staff in the design, development, testing, implementation, and operation of training systems using new technologies and technical simulators. in support of AFSOC, DoD, Air Force and USSOCOM medical programs and initiatives, and associated functions required to support AFSOC modernization programs.

Responsibilities

  • Work with AFSOC/SG staff, Tactical Operational Medicine Skills (TOMS) Lab staff, and SMEs to develop training plans unique to each AFSOC operational medical capability and provide instruction as required.
  • Assist AFSOC/SG and TOMS staff in teaching medical skills as determined by TOMS curriculum. Contractor will teach medical didactics and skills to military members which include paramedical skills, Tactical Combat Casualty Care skills and concepts, Multi-Modal Patient Movement (MMPM), Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and related medical skills as determined by AFSOC/SG
  • Assist AFSOC/SG and TOMS staff in preparing medical exercise scenarios and conduct medical skills and knowledge evaluations of participants
  • Assist AFSOC/SG and TOMS staff in day-to-day management support of simulation, equipment, resources, and classroom academics
  • Assist AFSOC/SG and TOMS staff in the development and evaluation of AFSOC/SG developed training syllabus utilized for medical instruction included in the TOMS curriculum

Requirements

  • An associate’s degree or higher in with a concentration in Allied Health Services, medical technologist, or related medical fields.
  • Must have at least four (4) years of military medical related experience at a supervisory or managerial level to include experience in providing medical training to subordinates.
  • Have at least four (4) years of managerial experience in planning and accomplishing projects related to military training and operations.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with the expeditionary medical capabilities, learning management systems, curriculum design/development, and analysis through tests and measurements
  • Have and maintain certification for the National Paramedic Certification through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and Tactical Combat Casualty Care Instructor status and must be able to obtain and maintain certification as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor.
  • Experience in medical training and simulation in a military or clinical environment and familiarity with Tactical Combat Casualty Care and CASEVAC protocols.
  • Strong instructional and curriculum development skills. Ability to operate and manage simulation equipment and classroom settings, and excellent organizational, communication, and evaluation skills.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time to support casualty training and exercises.

Desired Experience

  • Special Operations Forces medical experience.
