Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals, ensure radiation safety, operate specialized equipment, and provide compassionate patient care.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced diagnostic imaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
Review examination requests and identify special instructions from the ordering physician.
Consult with the Radiologist when clarification or additional guidance is required.
Verify patient identification and provide a professional, welcoming experience.
Explain examination procedures clearly to patients and their families.
Perform in vivo and in vitro diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures according to established protocols.
Prepare, calibrate, document, and administer radiopharmaceuticals through injection, ingestion, and inhalation routes as appropriate.
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Nuclear Medicine equipment and its proper operation.
Position patients appropriately to obtain diagnostic images of the anatomy under investigation.
Evaluate images for technical quality and determine whether additional imaging is necessary.
Maintain accurate documentation and complete departmental processes for exam results.
Maintain a daily activity log.
Perform daily quality assurance testing and visual preventive safety inspections of equipment.
Identify equipment or operational issues and promptly notify the appropriate supervisor.
Ensure appropriate storage and ordering of Nuclear Medicine supplies.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages and special-order requirements.
Follow all applicable radiation protection and safety standards.
Protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary radiation exposure.
Properly operate radiation detection and monitoring equipment.
Recognize emergency situations and initiate appropriate emergency procedures.
Administer first aid or CPR when required and within the scope of training.
Coordinate add-on examinations with other departments whenever possible.
Seek appropriate alternatives when requested add-on procedures cannot be accommodated.
Verify accurate exam orders, order entry, and supply charging.
Ensure timely access to diagnostic care while maintaining patient safety and departmental standards.
Maintain compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and quality requirements.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program or equivalent educational program.
Current ARRT(N) or CNMT certification/credential.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Strong knowledge of Nuclear Medicine procedures, radiopharmaceuticals, radiation safety, and imaging equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members.
Additional Training
Must successfully complete required Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) training as part of general orientation.

Work Schedule
Full-time position.
8-hour day shifts.
Alternating weekend schedule.
Compensation
Hourly Pay Range: $36.57–$56.68
Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, certifications, and other applicable factors.
