Job Title: Die Cleaner

Job Summary
Under general supervision, the die cleaner will be responsible to ensure all dies are cleaned correctly to allow machines to run as efficiently as possible. Work from verbal or written instructions, diagrams, or models.  Shift between activities as production demands. The die cleaners will complete all daily die cleanings and support other die maintenance items. Employee must be able to work in hot environments.

Responsibility

  • Clean and maintain casting dies, pits and machine areas.
  • Has the ability to use all the equipment safely and correctly.
  • Collaborate and work within continuous improvement teams on plant projects.
  • Work to continuously improve all areas of productivity and reduce scrap.
  • Have the flexibility and willingness to learn and help in other areas of the facility.
  • Assist other team members with troubleshooting and machine operations as needed and work in a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of Buhler controls
  • Promote positive employee and company culture.
  • Interact with all departments to seek clarification on job instructions and to seek help when problems arise.
  • Interact with co-workers, to relay new information and safety precautions, to receive instructions or to instruct others how to perform new jobs.
  • Train employees of the defined processes.
  • Assist in the organization of necessary working equipment.
  • Able to work overtime as scheduled.
  • Maintain department 5S.
  • Complete all required paperwork
  • Other duties as assigned.

Academic/Educational Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
Required Skills/Experience
  • Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • High Pressure Die Casting a plus.
  • Ability to work independently when needed.
  • Must be a team player and work with the team which includes optimizer, setter, tooling, quality, operators and supervision to ensure that machines are used efficiently, and work priorities are well managed.
  • Ability to learn new specifications and procedures through on-the-job training and experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms to various levels within the organization.
  • Must pass a medical examination.
