Gel Coat Sprayer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Gelcoat is a liquid that hardens to form a thick layer of protective fiberglass and gives a shiny, smooth finish. This position applies gel coat to production hull and deck molds by using hand operated spray equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operates spray gun to apply various coats of gel coat to molds according to production schedule, ensuring color, finish and thickness are adhered to. 
• Pulls tape on deck or hull molds.
• Maintains and cleans test gel coating equipment to ensure it operates as required.
• Maintains a clean and environmentally safe work area. 
• Continued awareness and protective actions regarding all health, safety and chemical protocols and processes   
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required:    High School Diploma or Equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Must follow all safety standards and procedures
• Positive attitude, high dependability, and promotion of good morale
• Must adhere to all quality standards and adhere to new standards as processes evolve  
• Pass a pulmonary function test and abide by a respiratory protection program to wear a respirator
