Job Overview:

The Operations Specialist II is an advanced operations role responsible for supporting department performance through data analysis, problem solving, and oversight of daily execution. This position partners closely with the Area leadership to identify operational gaps, implement corrective actions, and drive improvements.  It requires strong analytical capability, sound decision-making, and consistent follow through to support department results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive daily department execution to meet accuracy, volume, and service expectations
  • Monitor and analyze performance using WMS, labor systems, and operational reporting tools
  • Interpret data to identify trends, performance gaps, and recurring issues
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve operational challenges
  • Take ownership of assigned operational areas, including performance results and follow-through on action plans
  • Recommend and drive process improvements based on data and operational observations
  • Provide direction to employees and reinforce accountability for performance
  • Support coaching conversations, performance follow-up, and issue resolution
  • Reinforce SOPs, safety expectations, and operational standards
  • Assist with shift planning, labor allocation, and real-time adjustments based on business needs
  • Make day-to-day operational decisions to address volume changes, staffing gaps, and process issues
  • Prepare and deliver clear reporting on department performance, risks, and improvement efforts
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in system data and operational inputs

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, fulfillment processes, and performance expectations
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable steps
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to lead issue resolution
  • Ability to provide direction and reinforce accountability with employees
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present information and expectations
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust to changing operational demands
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational reporting tools
  • Working knowledge of WMS and labor management systems

 

Preferred Education and Experience :

  • Minimum of 6+ years of consecutive experience in logistics, warehouse, or fulfillment operations
  • Prior experience providing direction or supervision in a high-volume environment
  • Strong background in data analysis, reporting, and operational problem solving
  • Experience with WMS, labor management systems, and performance tracking tools
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred (data analysis, reporting, pivot tables)
