Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Project Manager II, where you'll lead important initiatives that help make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. In this role, you'll oversee complex projects from initiation through successful delivery, ensuring effective execution and stakeholder satisfaction. You'll coordinate cross-functional teams, manage resources and timelines, and implement process improvements while maintaining the highest quality standards. This position offers an opportunity to make meaningful contributions at a leading company serving science.

Project responsibilities may be based at either Florence campus, so the above duties will need to be performed across both sites. Travel across sites may be required.

Discover Impactful Work:

Works in the Project Management group to help with management and documentation of interactions between clients, internal departments and the Thermo Fisher Scientific network. Manages project teams to track and maintain project deliverables. Role can be used as an independent contributor on numerous projects. Client-facing role.

A Day in the Life:

In this role, you will establish standard project reporting procedures, coordinate communications across project management, manufacturing, materials management, quality control, analytical development, and quality assurance teams, and ensure key project documentation is maintained.

What to expect:

  • Standard project reporting procedures, including minutes, agendas, and client updates
  • Cross-functional communications with Project Management, Manufacturing, Materials Management, Quality Control, Analytical Development, and Quality Assurance
  • Project documentation such as specifications, test methods, and quality agreements
  • Key project-related team meetings, client conferences, and on-site visits
  • Planning, coordinating, and tracking functional team activities, timelines, and deliverables
  • Resolving project issues through internal and external communication
  • Developing client timelines and preparing changes of scope and corresponding resource plans
  • Managing 2-3 projects with minimal technical challenges and/or portions of larger technically challenging projects under guidance
  • Resolving manufacturing deviations and product investigations, including evaluation of data and CAPA support

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry or a related discipline; commensurate experience may substitute. PMP or related certification preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmaceutical or related experience, with a proven track record of successful client interactions.
  • Strong quality, regulatory, and production mindset with a strong appreciation for client service.
  • Works well in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment and independently with minimal supervision; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SmartSheet, cloud storage applications, video conferencing, and WebEx.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Well organized, enthusiastic, and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent team player who can work effectively with cross-functional groups and clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in English and willingness to travel across both Florence sites as needed.
