The Parts Sales position promotes and sells parts, products, and related services to meet customer needs. This role supports counter customers, Service Technicians, and the Sales Department by identifying, locating, ordering, pulling, and invoicing parts while maintaining accurate inventory, organized displays, and a high standard of customer service.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Parts Sales & Customer Service

• Promote and sell parts, products, and related services based on customer needs.

• Look up part numbers, determine availability, place orders, pull parts from bins, and invoice parts for counter customers, the Service Department, and the Sales Department.

• Provide a friendly, professional customer environment and deliver outstanding service through solid product knowledge, responsiveness, and accurate follow-through.

• Maintain customer goodwill and address customer questions or concerns promptly, involving the Parts Manager when needed.

• Maintain awareness of product information, merchandise promotions, and advertisements.

• Accurately and efficiently complete sales transactions and maintain proper cash accountability at point-of-sale registers.

Service Department Support

• Supply Service Technicians with required parts using established parts requisition processes.

• Follow up on parts shortages, backorders, and warranty-related matters; complete required manufacturer forms and report unresolved or expedited issues to the Parts Manager.

Receiving, Inventory & Merchandising

• Verify receipt of parts and whole-goods shipments by comparing orders with packing lists and entering receipts accurately into the company inventory system.

• Assist with placing Machine Down and stock orders in the proper inventory locations.

• Receive, sort, process, replenish, and stock parts; open crates, boxes, and other containers as needed.

• Stock parts bins and assist with maintaining merchandise displays, floor moves, and showroom presentation, including assembling and stocking whole-goods displays.

• Assist with parts and equipment inventory counts and update inventory records in the company system.

• Help control inventory shrinkage by following established receiving, stocking, transaction, and accountability procedures.

Department Standards & Maintenance

• Maintain a clean, orderly, and customer-ready Parts Department, including bins, displays, floors, and work areas.

• Assist in ensuring departmental tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained in good working order; promptly report concerns to the Parts Manager.

• Adhere to all Tellus Equipment Solutions policies, procedures, safety requirements, and business practices.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

• Basic data-entry and keyboarding skills, with the ability to accurately use inventory and point-of-sale systems.

• Basic parts and machinery knowledge.

• Ability to use, or learn to use, the John Deere Parts Catalog application.

• Strong customer-service, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and coordinate with Parts, Service, and Sales employees.

• Ability to maintain accurate cash, sales, receiving, and inventory records.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.

• Forklift certification preferred.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

• Ability and willingness to work some Saturdays and additional hours as business needs require.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to safely lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds.

• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, handling parts, and operating a computer or point-of-sale system.
