Job DetailsJob Location: CMMC South Campus - Floresville, TX 78114Position Type: Full-Time/Part-TimeEducation Level: High SchoolTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: DayJob Category: FinanceSummary    Under general supervision of the Business Office Manager.  Contributes to the processing of various tasks required to achieve department goals and objectives.  Adheres to all policies and procedures documented in the Connally Memorial Medical Center policy and procedure manual. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All incoming calls must be answered then distributed to the person responsible for the calls that day. File primary and secondary claims and assist in performing follow up with high degree of accuracy, Completeness and timeliness with attention to Medicaid, Medicare and workers comp regulations. Make calls to insurance company for payment status, claim status and appeal status. Collaborates with other departments to create systems and problem solve ongoing issues that impact       departmental/organizational goals and/or patient care delivery. Demonstrates fiscal accountability for department resources and the ability to achieve outcomes within allocated resources. Provides ‘customer service’ to hospital personnel in a timely, professional manner. Maintains open communication using appropriate chain of command regarding issues. Maintains confidentiality of all pricing, hospital, and patient information at all times as observed by peers and management. Continuously displays a ‘can do’ attitude within the department and across departmental lines to contribute to the overall customer service program in place at hospital. QualificationsEducation and/or Experience                                                    One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Other Qualifications Knowledge of THMP Medicare/Medicaid system and insurance payor guidelines desirable. At least 2 years of hospital commercial collection experience, resulting in maximum reimbursement.    Must be detail oriented with excellent communication skills. Great customer service skills a must. Computer literate, knowledge of, or ability to learn hospital soft ware is required. Evening and weekend shift as required.
