Job Summary
The Pastoral Associate serves as a key member of the parish staff, supporting the pastor in the pastoral care, evangelization, and mission of St. Ferdinand Parish. This role involves coordinating parish-wide initiatives fostering collaboration among parish ministries, and engaging parishioners in service and discipleship. The Pastoral Associate helps ensure that the life of the parish is vibrant, welcoming, and mission-driven.
Job Responsibilities
Pastoral Support
- Support the pastor in promoting hospitality, discipleship, and outreach.
- Participate in parish liturgies, programs, and events to build relationships and provide support.
- Assist in planning and evaluating initiatives that strengthen marriage, family life, and evangelization.
- Coordinate the planning of weddings and funerals.
Communication Coordination
- Support parish communications, including the bulletin, website, social media, and digital signage.
- Create clear, engaging content that reflects the parish’s brand and mission.
- Develop content for gathering space displays and church screens.
Parish Ministries
- Serve as a liaison to parish ministries, encouraging communication and collaboration.
- Provide ministry leaders with training, resources, and support.
- Help ensure ministries align with the parish mission and vision.
Volunteer Coordination
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers for parish events and ministry initiatives.
- Coordinate volunteer schedules, teams, and communications in collaboration with staff and ministry leaders.
Event & Program Support
- Assist in planning and executing parish-wide events, retreats, and programs.
- Collaborate with staff to promote participation and engagement in parish activities.
Job Requirements
- Practicing Catholic in good standing who embraces and models Church teachings.
- Experience in parish ministry, volunteer coordination, or a related leadership role.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
