Position Summary

The Floral Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Floral Department, including customer service, merchandising, inventory management, sales growth, team leadership, and operational execution. This position ensures fresh, high-quality floral products are available for customers while maintaining attractive displays, controlling expenses, and achieving department sales and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming shopping experience.
  • Assist customers with floral selections, special orders, event arrangements, and product recommendations.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Drive sales through effective merchandising, promotions, seasonal programs, and holiday events.
  • Build customer loyalty by maintaining high product quality and presentation standards.
Department Operations
  • Oversee daily Floral Department operations, including ordering, receiving, processing, merchandising, and display maintenance.
  • Ensure floral displays are visually appealing, fully stocked, and aligned with company standards.
  • Monitor product freshness, rotation, and quality to minimize shrink and maximize sales.
  • Maintain proper pricing, signage, and promotional execution throughout the department.
  • Coordinate and fulfill customer special orders for events, celebrations, and holidays.
  • Manage inventory levels to meet customer demand while controlling waste.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop Floral Department associates.
  • Schedule team members to support customer service and operational needs while managing labor expenses.
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback, coaching, and recognition.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and productive work environment.
  • Ensure associates understand and follow company policies, procedures, and service expectations.
Merchandising & Product Presentation
  • Maintain attractive and creative floral displays that drive customer engagement and sales.
  • Execute seasonal, holiday, and promotional merchandising initiatives.
  • Ensure proper care and handling of fresh flowers, plants, and floral arrangements.
  • Monitor department conditions to maintain freshness, cleanliness, and visual appeal.
  • Identify trends and product opportunities to maximize sales performance.
Financial Management
  • Manage department sales, gross profit, labor, and shrink performance.
  • Review department reports and key performance indicators to identify opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Implement strategies to improve profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Support inventory counts and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain compliance with company safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and care of floral products and related supplies.
  • Promote a safe work environment for associates and customers.
  • Ensure equipment, displays, and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous floral, retail, or merchandising experience required.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry products weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance when necessary.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated environments and around floral processing equipment.
  • Ability to safely handle floral tools, supplies, and merchandise.
