  • Job Summary 

  • The Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient-centered care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality care based on established clinical protocols and physician/provider orders. The RN collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and desired outcomes, while maintaining a supportive and compassionate environment for patients and their families. 

  • Essential Functions

  • Leads the daily operations of the surgical services department, ensuring alignment with organizational mission, vision, and values.
  • Oversees the delivery of perioperative care, verifying the availability of personnel, equipment, and supplies to meet patient and procedural needs.
  • Assists in evaluating perioperative practices, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing strategies to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Provides guidance, support, and mentorship to surgical services personnel, fostering professional development and accountability.
  • Collaborates with perioperative management and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement performance improvement initiatives.
  • Analyzes data related to quality improvement projects, utilizing findings to inform decision-making and promote best practices.
  • Participates in the recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluation of perioperative personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in progressive perioperative or surgical services required
  • 2-4 years of progressive experience in healthcare management with increasing levels of responsibility and authority required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of perioperative care processes, surgical services operations, and regulatory standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and support personnel.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient privacy, confidentiality, and advocacy.

Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support required
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support required
  • CNOR - Certified Operating Room Nurse preferred
