Junior Construction Engineer

UNICO is seeking an engineering graduate (Civil preferred) to work on the construction management of bridge, roadway and or utility projects. Prefer 2-3 years’ experience in construction management, construction, land development, or design of infrastructure projects, or multiple student internships in the construction industry. Type of infrastructure projects include bridges / structures, roadways, green infrastructure, curb, gutter, sidewalk, underground utilities, earthwork, etc. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Candidate must have experience working in a team environment.

Responsibilites:

• Maintain tracking logs
• Review submittals
• Draft responses to RFIs and letters
• Perform independent cost analyses for extra work
• Perform quantity takeoffs
• Reviewing quantity sheets
• Prepare the agenda for the weekly construction meetings
• Attend the weekly construction meetings and take meeting minutes
• Review certified payroll and perform labor compliance interviews
• Review and track DBE utilization
• Maintain the project records
• Assist with project closeout documentation
• Perform site inspection as needed

Qualifications:

• Certified as an Engineer-in-Training (preferred).
• BS in Construction Management, Civil, or Structural Engineering (preferred), OR
• Four (4) years of relevant Construction Engineering experience
