Job Description Summary

As a Staff Accountant II working for Taylor Morrison you will work under management’s direction, perform professional accounting work including the examination, analysis, maintenance, reconciliation and verification of financial records, and related duties as required. Additionally, perform accurate and efficient accounts payable processing, and ensure accounting records are organized and fully auditable.

We trust that as a Staff Accountant II you will: (responsibilities)

  • Contribute with month end responsibilities, including preparing recurring journal entries
  • Prepare weekly reports and distribution to Division management and Corporate office
  • Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Review and reconcile outside agent W-9’s
  • Serve as main point of contact for vendors, resolving payment inquiries
  • Serve as main point of contact for AP, distributing checks twice weekly to division
  • Ad-Hoc duties and special projects as assigned by Assistant Controller and/or Division Controller
  • Assist with internal and external auditors as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong desire to learn accounting skills in the homebuilding industry
  • Strong analytical skills, high integrity, effective time management, and a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Previous experience in homebuilding/job costing accounting a plus
  • Previous experience with Newstar a plus
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (xlookups, pivot tables)
  • Credit report in good standing

Salary Range: $26.81-$38.91
Bonus: Up to 10% Staff Bonus

Will have responsibilities such as:

  • This position is considered a non-exempt position for purposes of wage-hour law, which means that you will be required to keep a time record and will be eligible for overtime pay.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
  • The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
