Job DetailsJob Location: FONTANA, CA 92337Salary Range: $20.00 - $21.50 HourlyThe Grinder Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring PVC scrap grinders and pulverizers to process raw and recycled materials. Key duties include feeding material into equipment, overseeing grinding and pulverizing operations, and separating processed material into designated containers for regrind and pulverized output. The role also requires maintaining accurate production paperwork, including material logs and daily reports.   This position works 12‑hour rotating shifts.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain work area in compliance with THM standards. Operate grinder machinery to grind PVC pipe. Operate PVC scrap grinder and pulverizer equipment. Handle and separate materials; fill containers with regrind and pulverized material. Maintain accurate production records and complete required paperwork. Operate a forklift and maintain current forklift certification. Assist with set‑ups, changeovers, cleaning, painting equipment, sweeping, and general housekeeping. Handle, sort, and store materials and supplies. Use safe work practices at all times and report hazardous conditions immediately. Complete required reports and documentation. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers. Monitor equipment performance and report mechanical issues promptly. Assist maintenance personnel during minor repairs or adjustments. Ensure proper labeling and storage of processed materials. Assist with inventory counts, material tracking, and inventory organization. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.   QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Six months to one year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred. Forklift experience required. Computer Skills Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels. Mathematical Skills Ability to apply basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and work with a variety of concrete variables where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule‑based instructions. Ability to walk through, under, and around equipment with a minimum 30‑inch clearance. Ability to operate telephones and calculators as required. Ability to feel objects, textures, size, shape, and temperature using fingertips. Ability to grasp and safely use manual and powered tools (power saws, drills, hammers, presses, latches, etc.). Adequate sight capability to safely operate machinery and tools at arm’s length.
