Primary Objective of Position: The Production Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining a valid production and shop floor schedule that optimizes the usage of company material and resources while fulfilling all customer requirements.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Maintains a valid production schedule that is aligned with the master schedule and is the basis for detailed shop floor schedules that are executed on the production floor.
  • Coordinates the flow of materials between production stages in producing Winnebago products. Review’s production schedules and materials receipts to optimize utilization and efficiency of all resources.
  • Coordinates daily with purchasing to fulfill the production schedule on time while minimizing on hand or idle inventory.
  • Manages communication of all production commitments to the stakeholders within the sales, marketing, service, and engineering groups. Maintains all metrics for areas of responsibility.   
  • Identify and resolve conflicts with respect to material & capacity availability and order-promising integrity. Manage communications/escalations when demand cannot be met and recommend alternatives on how the requested demand could be satisfied.
  • Maintains and updates capacity data for all critical plant resources/work centers. Work closely with the manufacturing and engineering leader(s) to ensure all capacity and material constraints are managed to maximize the utilization of Winnebago manufacturing resources as cost-effectively as possible.
  • Maintains scheduling and manufactured item attributes, such as lead times, lot sizes, and cycle times. Liaises with engineering to ensure appropriate labor, machine, and scrap standards are used in material and capacity requirements.
  • Create and lead material strategies for all levels of required production goods (raw, semi-finished and expense). Acts as owner for all associated physical inventory and future inventory plans for responsible manufacturing streams and provides input to management regarding long term issues that could impact corporate decisions.
    • Manage WIP variances at the work order level and works with manufacturing, production, and inventory to ensure timely and accurate work order management 

 

 

Education & Experience

  • 3+ years of manufacturing or supply chain experience within the MRP environment.
  • Knowledge of operations, scheduling and purchasing procedures, MRP systems and their processes, and supply chain best practices.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent English and verbal written communication.
  • Good MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.

 

 

Physical demands & Work Environment

Work is normally performed in both typical interior/office and production floor work environment. The candidate should be able to perform the job tasks with or without reasonable accommodations.

 

  • Remaining seated in the position for extended periods of time.
  • Moving about on foot
