Velosity CMD is hiring an experienced CNC Mill Machinist on 1st shift to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN.  A CNC Milling Specialist is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC milling machines to produce precision components.

The typical pay range for this role: $28.50-$42.75/hour. This role is also eligible for a 5% quarterly bonus target. 

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

This position includes a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Set up CNC milling machines with the correct attachments and parts to perform the job. Operate and monitor the machines to ensure they are running correctly.
  • Enter instructions into the CNC equipment based on blueprints, plans, and work orders. Use software like Mastercam to program the machines.
  •  Identify and resolve issues with machine programming or operation to ensure smooth production.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications and maintain the equipment to keep it in good working order.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers and other team members to meet production goals.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma/GED-General Studies
  • Certificate-Machine Trades or equivalent work experience: Preferred
  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • 3years experience operating CNC milling machines and programming them using relevant software.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming and operation, particularly milling machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
  • Able to use a computer, calculator, read and write in English and do shop Math 
  • Familiarity with MasterCam X (ability to back plot programs, and measure dimensions).

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Standing, Walking, Kneeling, Bending, Reaching, Pulling, Twisting, Turning, Seeing, Hearing 
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds  

Work Conditions:

This is a non-smoking, professional tool shop with normal lighting, climate control. The shop environment may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors as would be customary in a tool making and/or molding shop.
