Race Night and Bar Server

  • Location: Running Aces Casino Hotel Racetrack - 15201 Running Aces Blvd, Columbus, MN 55025
  • Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings

*Must be available most Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings from 4pm to 11pm

                *Starting training in April

Purpose of the Race Night and Bar Server:

The Race Night Server delivers quality food and beverage items to our guests in a timely manner while maintaining world class customer service and adhering to all Running Aces alcohol and I.D policies. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • I.D each and every guest for Alcohol purchases, ensuring they have a valid form of identification
  • Must be willing to cross train as a Food Service Cashier and Food Runner
  • Cheerfully greet customers within 2 minutes of seating
  • Must be knowledgeable on all menus, any food and/or beverage specials and happenings at Running Aces
  • Accurately and efficiently take customers food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system
  • Use correct table and seat numbers on each check
  • Assist in the preparation of hot and cold drinks and check drinks for completeness and accuracy
  • Ability to provide proper money exchange and be knowledgeable on Casino coupons and discounts
  • Deliver requested items to the customer in a timely and professional manner.
  • Must pre-bus all tables; keep customers area clear of debris, finished dishes and glasses
  • Have the capability to work outside during live racing which can sometimes involve working in direct heat and sunlight for extended periods of time
  • Responsible for awareness of health codes; including wearing the proper uniform and black non-slip shoes.
  • Must keep clean work areas, especially those visible to customers
  • Ability to do all side work and running side work tasks such as rolling and polishing silverware, stocking condiments and essentials, cleaning pop, coffee and hot chocolate machines, cutting fruit, emptying garbage’s, cleaning counters, floors, surrounding areas, tables and more.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills/Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous alcohol serving and customer service experience required.
  • Must pass alcohol training provided by Running Aces.
  • Previous Cash handling experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as well as to gain the cooperation of guests and fellow team members
  • This position must have, or an ability to acquire within one year, an in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of company policy and procedures, state regulations, and technical rules relevant to their responsibilities.
  • Must possess the ability to obtain a Minnesota Racing Commission gaming license.

 

 

Physical, intellectual and environmental conditions:

  • Ability to work flexible shifts including race nights, weekends and holidays
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong multitasking skills with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift 35lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to handle frequent walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending and lifting, pushing and pulling. This is a very active position.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts in a crowded, noisy, and occasionally humid environment
