Job Summary

 

The Senior Benefits Specialist is responsible for the administration of health and welfare plans. The Senior Benefits Specialist manages Healthy Hillman program. The Senior Benefits Specialist provides industry-related analysis to support ongoing programs. The Senior Benefits Specialist leads benefit related projects and manages vendor relationships.

 

Essential Job Functions *

 

  1. Serves as plan administrator for benefit programs and reviews benefits processes regularly to ensure continued functionality for the organization and updates processes as needed. Communicates process and practice changes to internal stakeholders.
  2. Manages Healthy Hillman program including annual timeline, biometric methods, vendor management and selection as needed. 
  3. Complies with all legal and regulatory requirements to maintain benefit and retirement plans favorable status with the federal government (e.g. 5500 filings, ACA, annual or semi-annual audits, etc.) 
  4. Coordinates benefit awareness efforts through partnership with L&D, HRBP’s and manager interactions.
  5. Participates in benefits strategy development, researches developing trends and emerging opportunities to expand and improve benefits offerings. 
  6. Supports mergers, acquisitions and sales through data collection, site visits, plan reviews and other duties as needed. 
  7. Participates in Annual Open Enrollment, Wellness and general plan communications including in person site visits and virtual meetings as well as contributing to the development of messaging.

Education & Experience

 

  • Greater than four (4) years of relevant human resources generalist experience with a minimum two (2) years of benefits program administration required. 
  • Previous work experience with cost and trend analysis preferred.
  • Large enterprise system experience preferred, i.e. Dayforce, SAP, Oracle, or Workday. 
  • Presentation development and public speaking experience preferred.

  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of any information. 
  • Excellent project skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
  • Ability to effectively perform project work involving internal and external teams.
  • Ability to compile effective and concise visual reports in charts, graphs, and table format.
  • Strong administrative, multitasking, analytical, and organizational skills to be able to coordinate benefits and compensation activities and functions.
