$36.00 - $40.00 hr | Weekly Pay | Full Benefits within 30 Days |

 

Amerit Fleet Solutions is one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the U.S., and we’re looking for an experienced Shop Foreman to join our growing team in Forest Park, GA.

 

The Shop Foreman assists the Fleet Manager in leading service technicians and overseeing the fleet’s preventative maintenance and repair program. This is primarily a computer and coordination-focused role with limited hands-on mechanical work, ensuring heavy-duty diesel vehicles, trailers, and field equipment remain safe, reliable, and efficient.

 

 

Pay: $36.00 – $40.00/hour (based on experience) Pay Frequency: Weekly pay – every FridaySchedule: Monday - Friday 6:00AM - 2:30PM (Day-Shift!)

What You’ll Do

  • 80% managerial/20% diesel technician work
  • Lead and develop employees: up to 10+ full-time employees
  • Fleet consists of heavy-duty trailers, dollies, and switchers
  • Perform services to anti-lock brakes, wheel end components, electrical, brakes, minor body work, and roll-up doors
  • Monitor employee’s performance and be accessible to all areas of the shop
  • Plan daily manpower to meet workload
  • Provide support to the operations team regarding all equipment related issues
  • Perform administrative functions, including payroll approval, scanner downloads, repair order maintenance and compliance documentation
  • Provide clean, safe working conditions of the facility and equipment
  • Communicate with fleet maintenance manager to ensure operation's and company's needs are met
  • Identify and monitor equipment sent to outside sources for repairs
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
  • Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles
  • Perform other duties as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Must possess at least 5+ years' industry experience in fleet maintenance management or operations capacity within the auto/diesel industry.
  • Must possess 2-5 years as a Lead/Manager within the diesel industry.
  • Prior technician/mechanic experience is required
  • Must be familiar with heavy truck/trailer repair and maintenance
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Must be multi-tasked oriented
  • Strong computer skills

Working Conditions

 

This role involves working in a mobile, outside and/or shop environment with exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical materials such as oils and greases. Technicians must be able to perform essential job functions that include frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces. This position requires regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment. Technicians may be required to work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms and must be able to safely perform duties in various weather conditions. Due to the active work environment and movement of large vehicles, the ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate the workspace is required.
