A school-based program in Forest Park, IL is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist (PT) to support students' success. This flexible opportunity is ideal for a therapist looking for limited monthly hours. Current needs include direct services for one student and consultation for 2-3 students each month, averaging about one hour per week with only a few onsite visits required monthly. The PT will also conduct evaluations as needed, including an upcoming preschool evaluation within the next 50-60 days. What you'll do:
Evaluate and provide physical therapy services to students in accordance with their educational needs
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support educationally relevant motor and functional goals
Help students improve mobility, balance, strength, endurance, coordination, and gross motor skills
Recommend and support the use of adaptive equipment, positioning devices, and mobility aids
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, school staff, and families to promote student participation in school activities
Maintain accurate evaluations, service logs, treatment notes, progress reports, and required documentation
Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies as appropriate
Assist with implementing accommodations and strategies that promote student safety, independence, and access to the learning environment
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions as needed
What you'll need:
Active Illinois Physical Therapist (PT) license
Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
Previous experience working in a school setting required
Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred
Strong understanding of educationally relevant physical therapy services
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
