The role
The Material Handler supports manufacturing operations by ensuring the accurate movement, tracking, and inventory management of raw materials, WIP, scrap, and finished goods. This role is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production flow, and adhering to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Review work orders at the start of each shift and when beginning new jobs.
Monitor department communication boards for Quality Alerts, NCRs, and ICRs.
Verify incoming and outgoing materials, components, and finished products.
Accurately complete inventory transactions, labor scans, and work orders using VISUAL and JDE systems.
Transport materials, packaging, WIP, scrap, suspect product, and finished goods throughout the facility.
Record and report scrap, damaged materials, and non-conforming product.
Ensure proper product identification, traceability, and labeling.
Make, seal, and label boxes according to company procedures.
Support inspection activities and production requirements as needed.
Complete shift reporting to ensure smooth handoffs between shifts.
Report quality concerns, incidents, accidents, and safety hazards promptly.
Collaborate effectively with production, quality, warehouse, and other departments.
Follow all safety regulations, work instructions, visual aids, and company policies.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling experience preferred.
Basic computer and inventory system experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely.
Dependable attendance and willingness to work assigned shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
