2nd Shift Utilities Technician 
Base Pay of $35.55 (more based on experience)
+ $2.00 Shift Bonus + $2.00 shift differential (hours worked between 2pm-6am)

Jones Dairy Farm, a family owned and operated business for 135 years, is searching for Utilities Technicians for 2nd shift. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who thrives on problem solving to find the right technical solution in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Position Summary:

Responsible for the service, repair and preventative maintenance of the ammonia refrigeration system, boilers, wastewater, compressed air, HVAC, and general facility maintenance. Participate in the Process Safety Management (PSM) program and development and maintenance of ammonia system. Daily communication with the Maintenance Supervisor to improve plant reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, service and repair equipment for steam, refrigeration, water, compressed air and HVAC systems
  • Make rounds and keep logs of daily operations and events for multiple engine rooms and refrigeration equipment
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of ammonia refrigeration compressors, condensers, pumps, vessels / recirculatory, purges, evaporators / MAU’s, heat exchangers, and control valves / isolation valves while using the Original Equipment Manufacture’s guidelines
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of steam boilers, wastewater treatment facility, hot water heaters, HVAC systems and air compressors
  • Participates in the PSM Program
  • Promotes Safe working habits
  • Log time and material usage into CMMS for PMs and corrective maintenance
  • Responsible for housekeeping of engine rooms, vessel areas, shops, and all other work areas
  • All other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates mechanical abilities
  • General knowledge of refrigeration, boiler systems, and wastewater systems
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in Ammonia Refrigeration
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals and P&ID’s
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers at all levels
  • Experience working with vendors and contractors
  • Self-motivated
  • RETA certification preferred-if not certified, it will be required that RETA certification CARO (Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator) is completed within 3 years of employment
