We are pleased to announce the opening for a Senior Mission Engineer, who will join our Engineering Services Division in Alexandria, VA and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in mission engineering, missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. You will be part of a team known for conducting analysis on critical missions and will help identify concepts and emerging technologies to close capability gaps in support of the warfighter.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Execute Mission Engineering Studies
- Analyze warfighting concepts, functions, systems, and technologies in an end to end mission context
- Clearly define the mission problem, objectives, and constraints
- Characterize the mission context, environment, and scenario
- Establish measures of effectiveness and evaluation criteria
- Develop analysis approaches, architectures, and assumptions
- Build and execute models to simulate mission alternatives
- Evaluate results, compare alternatives, and perform trade studies
- Communicate recommendations and decision support clearly
- Develop digital models
- Document results and findings
- Collaborate with stakeholders
- Manage diverse cross-functional teams
- Develop and execute Terms of Reference and/or Statements of work
Required Qualifications:
- US Citizenship
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related discipline
- 7 years of experience in operations research with a focus on mission engineering, systems engineering, or operational analysis
- 7 years of experience using mission-level digital tools such as AFSIM. This includes development of models for scenarios, missions, and systems; post-processing data to include extraction, transformation, statistical analysis, and visualization of simulation outputs; and debugging simulation models and resolving software, scripting, or logic errors within model implementations
- 5 years of demonstrated experience preparing briefings and strategic recommendations that communicate complex technical findings to senior leadership, technical or operational experts, and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to the above Required Qualifications:Â
- Active TS/SCI
- Master's degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related discipline
- 7 years of experience with digital tools such as CAMEO to develop mission architectures (mission threads), kill chains, kill webs, and integrating models to represent DoD system-of- systems performance across domains (e.g., space, air, maritime, land, and cyber)
- 5 years of experience in a leadership role managing cross-functional teams in analyzing complex engineering and operational problems
- 3 years of experience collaborating with diverse teams that include engineers, operational planners, and technologists, including Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Military Services, Intelligence Community, and/or Office of Secretary of War organizations
- 3 years of demonstrated experience in developing and executing terms of reference or statements of work for analyses or studies
