Job DetailsJob Location: Fort Belvoir, VA 22060Position Type: Full TimePosition title: Systems Engineer Location: Fort Belvoir, VA Clearance required: TOP SECRET/SCI   Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Assess the operational effectiveness and suitability of existing and emerging technologies, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). Assess system capabilities and provide information for the development of capability improvement plans to satisfy joint requirements and operational needs. Identify possible non-material solutions such as concepts of operation (CONOPS) and JTTPs, to satisfy joint requirements and operational needs. When directed by the Government, support JPRA-led, demonstrations and experiments during military exercises. Plan and execute experiments; conduct analysis and generate system assessment reports. Support the development of interoperability requirements and standards. When directed by the Government, collaborate with applicable Services, Combatant Commands (CCMDs), Inter-agency, and private sector entities to identify and develop design requirements, improvement plans for existing and emerging technologies, and capabilities. Plan and conduct Government/Industry forums or Working Groups when directed. Participate in military exercises, experiments, conferences, seminars, or working groups when directed by the Government and prepare AARs within 5 working days following conference, seminar, or working group attendance. AARs shall be prepared and submitted in accordance with JPRA procedures (CDRL A003). Requires regular travel as a core part of its responsibilities. Author documents at the Service Headquarters, Joint Staff, or Combatant Command Headquarters levels. Provide leadership for highly complex and challenging activities under the minimal direction of a manager or executive. Analyze and develop innovative approaches, methodologies, or techniques to personnel recovery problem issues. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. 5 years of related experience as a Systems Engineer or Operations Research and Systems Analyst (ORSA). Must have an active TS/SCI Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance. Experience in the design and execution of experiments or tests. Proficiency in conducting analysis and generating comprehensive reports. Proficiency in preparing After Action Reports (AARs) in accordance with specified procedures (e.g., JPRA procedures). The ability to collaborate effectively with Service, CCMD, Inter-agency, and private sector entities. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for generating reports, leading working groups, and presenting information. Skills in the management, organization, and presentation of collected data. Experience in application of Microsoft Office software. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment. Demonstrated excellent command of written communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail for conducting analysis, designing experiments, and preparing reports. Ability to work independently and take initiative when directed by the Government. Ability to adapt to evolving requirements and technologies within the DoD environment. Ability to task organize a project that frequently affects more than one unit or division.   Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree. Prior experience working in a Joint Military environment. Strong understanding of DoD experimentation and methodologies. Experience leading working groups and planning/conducting Government/Industry forums. Experience associated with the personnel recovery mission or a related mission area. Knowledge of Joint processes and systems (ex. JSAP). Ability to assess the interoperability of existing and emerging architectures and capabilities. Skilled in analyzing system capabilities and providing information for capability improvement plans. Experience identifying non-material solutions (e.g., CONOPS, JTTPs) to satisfy joint requirements. Experience supporting the development of interoperability requirements and standards.
