Summary

The Shift Supervisor supports the MDA Security and Emergency Management Directorate (DSS) in leading day‑to‑day Security Operations Services at Missile Defense Agency (MDA) facilities nationwide. You will supervise a team of security officers on shift, ensure compliance with MDA and DoD security directives, and serve as the primary point of contact for incident response, access control integrity, and customer service during your assigned tour. Your leadership helps safeguard personnel, sensitive assets, and mission‑critical operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all management and hourly security personnel to ensure that access control, visitor support, alarm monitoring, and dispatch operations are executed in full compliance with contractual, regulatory, and site‑specific requirements.
  •  Coordinate closely with Site Operations Managers and Shift Supervisors to ensure all contractual obligations, performance standards, and staffing requirements are consistently met across all shifts.
  •  Oversee Security Control Center operations, including Access Control, Response and Circulation Enforcement, Badge and Credential Administration, and Common Access Card (CAC) processing, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and adherence to established procedures.
  • Ensure all security personnel receive proper training, certifications, and ongoing professional development to effectively perform their duties, maintain readiness, and meet both client and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as a first responder for security and safety incidents, conducting immediate assessment and providing emergency support following Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification protocols.
  •  Conduct routine and unannounced security inspections; respond promptly to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and requests for assistance, ensuring thorough documentation and timely escalation when required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting mission needs, special projects, audits, investigations, and operational requirements to ensure seamless security operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a BS/BA degree in security, law enforcement, or management related fields.  and/or equivalent training and experience; or an AS/AA degree and eight (8) years and/or equivalent training and experience.  
  • Six (6) years management experience preferably with a civilian police force, military police force, or civilian security guard organization.   
  •  Eight (8) years' experience in security or law enforcement administration and substantial operations experience in the armed forces, security, police, or civilian equivalent or related field, six (6) of which are at the supervisory level.   
  •  Six (6) years of progressively responsible overall experience gained in analytical decision making and administrative work and activities at the executive management level.  
  • Six (6) years of specialized experience related to the work performed in physical security or law enforcement.  
  • Must have prior experience as a Site Manager or Site Supervisor of similar size and scope to this contract.  
  • Have no felony convictions and no convictions that reflect on the individual's reliability including those crimes classified under the Lautenberg Act.   
  • Must hold an active secret security clearance 
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.

  • Must know of various computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook
