About the role

Kaimetrix is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer – Level III to support the design, testing, upgrade, and integration of enterprise telecommunication networks, systems, and equipment in a secure, mission-critical environment. This role performs advanced engineering tasks and contributes to the successful implementation and optimization of telecommunications infrastructure.

What you'll do

Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables in accordance with industry standards
Perform installation, modification, repair, and removal of cable infrastructure components
Conduct end-to-end cable testing to verify proper functionality and performance
Troubleshoot and repair cable infrastructure issues to restore service and maintain reliability
Document and catalog all actions performed on cable systems to ensure accurate infrastructure records
Read and interpret engineering diagrams for buildings and cable plant infrastructure
Ensure cable installations and modifications align with technical requirements and standards
Design, test, upgrade, and integrate new or existing telecommunication networks in accordance with business and mission requirements
Document all aspects of the engineering process, including build, configuration, testing, and deployment activities
Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard telecommunication networks and systems
Coordinate with architecture teams to evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to network infrastructure
Troubleshoot complex telecommunication issues and support resolution of system performance challenges
Collaborate with senior technical staff and end users to successfully complete engineering projects
Provide technical guidance and may supervise junior personnel supporting telecommunications operations

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in telecommunications engineering or related IT infrastructure roles
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Certifications:

CompTIA CASP+, CCNP

Clearance:

Active Tier 3 (T3) background investigation or ability to obtain and maintain
