- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program required.
- Completion of all required fieldwork and successful passing of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam required to use the title “COTA.”
- Current CPR certification required.
- Minimum of two years of recent, relevant experience preferred or equivalent clinical experience under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Pediatric experience required; lymphedema experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform required skills and competencies.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and observation skills.
- Ability to work one-on-one with patients while demonstrating compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle as a role model for patients and staff.
- Proficient computer skills, including documentation and communication.
- Provide occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist following patient evaluation.
- Assist patients with rehabilitative activities to improve daily living and functional abilities.
- Accurately observe, document, and report patient progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Deliver care across outpatient, and inpatient settings.
- Support departmental operations and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Participate in required training, including equipment use, safety, and fire prevention programs.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
