The IT Support Technician position is part of the Information Technology Department and is a full-time role working 80 hours per two-week pay period. The primary schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with participation in an on-call rotation shared with other IT staff members. Holiday coverage is included as part of the on-call rotation.
This position is responsible for providing technical support to all hospital departments and users while assisting with the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the hospital’s computer systems, network, and devices. Working under the direction of the Network Administrator, this role ensures reliable performance and availability of hospital technology systems that support daily operations and patient care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide on-site and remote support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for end users.
- Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access permissions.
- Install, configure, and update operating systems and applications.
- Maintain antivirus protection, system security, and data backup procedures.
- Educate staff on cybersecurity awareness and IT best practices.
- Support meeting and conference room technology such as projectors and video conferencing systems.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and inventory of IT equipment.
- Collaborate with IT team members and leadership to support system improvements and technology initiatives.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Prior experience in IT support or a related technical role required.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with LAN, HIS, and web operations preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to assist non-technical users.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Healthcare IT experience preferred.
