Position Summary
Residential Dining Services at Colorado State University is seeking applications for an Assistant Manager to support daily operations.
The Assistant Manager is responsible for managing daily operations in a university residential dining facility. Duties include supervising full- and part-time employees – scheduling, training, coaching, and evaluating – procurement of food and supplies, assure the quality and quantity of meals produced, control food cost, receiving goods, while promoting safety, sanitation, and accident prevention.

Work Unit
Housing & Dining Services (HDS) is one of the largest departments on campus and is responsible for the management, finance, administration, and program development of all University housing facilities, including residence halls, university apartments, and Mountain Campus.
Essential Job Duties:
Supervise full- and part-time employees, including delegating assignments, scheduling, conducting trainings, evaluating, issuing discipline, and mediating differences.
Interview full- and part-time applicants and assist in hiring decisions.
Assure all front-of-house customer-facing visual standards are met, including cleanliness and organization of the dining room, appearance of food, and signage is accurate.
Order and inventory food and supplies to maintain accurate inventory levels.
Attend and successfully complete training sessions, such as, ServSafe Manager Certification, sexual harassment, food allergy, and new employee onboarding.
Conditions of Employment
Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires)
Pre-employment Physical - Successfully complete the WorkSteps evaluation.
Essential Services Designation - Required to report without delay or interruption to provide essential or emergency services to ensure health, safety, and welfare.
Special Requirements/Other - Per the CSU HDS food safety training policy, the incumbent must successfully pass the ServSafe certification exam within 6 months of hire date.
Supervision
This position will supervise full- and part-time employees.
Minimum Experience
Five years of foodservice experience that includes at least one year of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or bachelor's degree in hospitality management, culinary arts, business or related field.
Four (4) or more years of supervisory experience.
Work experience in a complex high-volume (500+ meals per day) food production operation.
Experience working in a university environment.
Experience with ordering and inventory systems.

Salary Range
