Crisis Professional/Therapist - Behavioral Health Urgent Care and Mobile Crisis

  • Salary Ranges:
    • Bachelor’s degree: $24.04 - $33.66 per hour
    • Master’s degree unlicensed: $25.97 - $36.36 per hour
    • Master’s degree with Candidacy: $27.89 - $39.05 per hour
    • Master’s degree Licensed: $31.75 - $44.42 per hour
    • Master’s degree Duel Licensed: $33.34 - $46.68 per hour

  • Location: Fort Collins, Colorado at our Longview Campus
  • Status: Multiple Full time, 40 hours per week a
  • Hours: Evening and overnight shifts available (7pm-7:30pm)
    • Overnight shifts are 12 hours with alternating Saturday shifts 


Employees working at locations operating 24/7 earn a differential.  Shift differentials are also available for evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Role Overview:


Responsible for providing triage, clinical support, and direct care to clients in acute and other bed-based care settings. This role delivers direct client care, crisis intervention, and assessment in collaboration with medical and clinical staff to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. The clinician works with a multidisciplinary team to support treatment goals, clinical and medical services, safety planning, and discharge coordination. Responsibilities also include conducting risk assessments (phone-based, on-site, and field-based), providing crisis interventions, coordinating care, offering brief interventions, resource navigation, and arranging external placements as needed. The position requires daily advocacy for diverse and often marginalized populations, ensuring interventions, support, and resources are delivered in an inclusive and equitable manner.

Essential Duties (Levels I–V):

  • Provide behavioral health crisis intervention, triage, and field/facility-based support to ensure safe and appropriate transitions of care. 
  • Respond to crisis calls and community needs via phone, in person, and in the field, including dispatch and collaboration with Mobile Crisis teams. 
  • Conduct rapid behavioral health and risk assessments, de-escalation, and brief therapeutic interventions to stabilize individuals in acute distress. 
  • Determine appropriate level of care and coordinate dispositions, including hospital, residential, or community-based services, in collaboration with partners such as hospitals, law enforcement, and emergency services. 
  • Develop and implement safety plans and short-term stabilization interventions with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Support intake, walk-in triage, and operations within Behavioral Health Urgent Care and other facility settings as needed. 
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). 
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, supervision, debriefings, and quality improvement activities. 
  • Maintain a safe, trauma-informed, and therapeutic environment while responding to emergencies and supporting crisis operations. 
  • Provide consultation and support to junior staff and contribute to coordinated team-based care across settings.


Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education, Experience, and Licensure

  • Experience working in a community-based behavioral health setting providing direct support and services to individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges is required or preferred based on level. Advanced levels typically require two or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience coordinating mental health interventions and services with community partners and external agencies is preferred.
  • Completion of the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) Crisis Professional Curriculum through the OwnPath Learning Hub is required within 90 days of hire unless already Crisis Professional Certified.
  • Participation in a Substance Use Disorder training program is required upon hire where applicable.
  • Colorado Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) certification is preferred or required for designated levels.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification is required at hire or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, is required. Employees must maintain an acceptable driving record and may be required to safely transport clients to appointments, community activities, treatment programs, and partner agency locations.
