Seeking a full-time custodian for evenings (3PM- 11PM) during the school year, and daytime (8AM-4PM) during the summer at Liberty Common Junior High School (LCJHS), a Poudre School District charter school dedicated to Core Knowledge principles, classical education, and college preparation. 

FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Hourly Non-Exempt 

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Regular, Full-time 

WORK HOURS: 40 hours per week 

PAY RANGE: $17.00/hour

REPORTS TO: Evening Custodian 

REVISION DATE: August 7, 2026

Regular Duties: 

  • Provides quality customer service as a member of the school’s maintenance/custodial department.
  • Responsible for maintaining and cleaning all areas of the building.
  • Performs custodial duties such as cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal of classrooms, offices, cafeterias, computer labs, break rooms, bathrooms, locker rooms, hallways, entryways, gymnasiums, and other areas of a facility, including exterior grounds.
  • Responds to requests, last-minute needs, unscheduled events, changes, etc. regarding building use.
  • Provides high-level customer service for school events and community activities including set-up/clean-up.
  • Moves and sets up furniture and equipment as requested.
  • Secures facility by locking doors and windows. 
  • Monitors building security throughout shift to ensure a safe school and working environment.

Job Requirements: 

  • Desire and willingness to learn about Liberty’s history and philosophy and to uphold and promote the mission and values of the school.
  • Custodial and/or maintenance experience in office or school settings is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to represent the school in a professional and courteous manner to parents, students, and visitors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic, customer-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated skill in prioritizing and successfully completing multiple tasks and projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to be part of a hard-working, active team.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and pass background check.
  • Must be able to frequently use office technology including computers, copiers, and printers.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to maneuver uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to carry or transfer up to 30 pounds of supplies frequently.
  • Must be able to work in occasionally loud environments.
  • Must be able to sit and stand (conducive to an office environment) for extended periods of time.
