Job Summary:Â
As an Engineering Intern at Injectech, LLC, you will support daily tooling engineering activities in a regulated medical device manufacturing environment. This hands-on role focuses on injection molds and tooling, including support for new mold builds, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with engineers, toolmakers, technicians, and production personnel to improve tooling performance, reliability, and readiness for manufacturing.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed an associate or bachelor's degree in Engineering or related STEM field
- Interest in tooling, injection molding, manufacturing, or process improvement
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (injection molding knowledge is a plus)
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings, procedures, and work instructions
- Familiarity with basic problem-solving methods (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone) is a plus
- Knowledge of risk management tools such as FMEA is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of design for manufacturability, and willingness to learn hands-on skills
- Experience with metrology tools and basic inspection methods
- CAD proficiency required (SolidWorks and 3D printing preferred)
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of tooling-related components (cavity/core inserts, core pins, ejector pins, hot runner system, parting line, etc.)
- Ability to support mold inspection, maintenance, and tooling improvement activities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Comfortable working in a production/manufacturing environment
Work Environment & Physical Demands:Â
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day)
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 30-50 lbs
- Requires good vision, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity for working with small parts and tools
- Ability to bend, kneel, and reach as needed
- May be required to work in a Class 8 cleanroom environment, following gowning and contamination control procedures
