Overview

Shift: Monday-Friday; 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM -3:30 PM + some weekends and holidays as needed

 

Join us as an Environmental Services Lead and play a vital role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.  In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll coordinate daily EVS operations, guide and support team members, and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control across the hospital.  You’ll oversee workflows, assign and adjust duties, and partner closely with nursing and other departments to keep patient care moving efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Assign daily cleaning tasks to staff, monitor completion, and adjust schedules to meet unit and hospital needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving daily operational issues related to cleanliness, patient flow, and EVS support.
  • Monitor the hospital’s bed board to assign discharge and transfer cleanings in real time, ensuring prompt room turnover.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections of completed work and coordinate follow-up action as needed.
  • Coach, encourage, and support EVS support staff in meeting departmental standards and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Train and guide new cleaning technicians on cleaning procedures, infection control practices, and safety standards.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or custodial operations within a healthcare, hospitality, or institutional setting is required.
  • 1 year training experience in environmental services, customer service or related setting is preferred.
