Responsibilities
- Provides operational leadership and oversight for all areas within the operating room, post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), anesthesia services and wound care, ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality patient care and services.
- Promotes a culture of collaboration, accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement that supports patient-centered care and professional nursing practice.
- Partners with physicians, nursing leaders, educators, and interdisciplinary team members to prioritize patient care needs and align departmental operations with organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
- Leads the coordination and delivery of nursing care in accordance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and evidence-based nursing practice.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and performance management for team members, including hiring, onboarding, staff development, performance evaluations, employee engagement, disciplinary action, and recognition activities.
- Responsible for staffing and scheduling oversight to support operational efficiency, productivity standards, patient throughput, and fiscal stewardship.
- Develops and manages departmental operating and capital budgets and supports achievement of financial goals.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's of Science Degree is required
Experience:
- 3 years of perioperative nursing experience is required
- 1 year of previous charge/supervisory experience is preferred
License(s)/Certification(s):
Current RN Licensure in State of Iowa or applicable compact state. Must be licensed in state of residence.

- Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
