Responsibilities
- Administer oxygen and PAP therapy per physician orders; instruct patients on equipment use and care.
- Write detailed, accurate reports of findings and therapeutic interventions.
- Collect and review patient medical history, medications, and relevant information for study appropriateness.
- Maintain, calibrate, clean, and troubleshoot sleep lab equipment.
- Provide age-appropriate care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Evaluate patient and family educational needs; provide direct education or referrals.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other team members to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Polysomnographic, Respiratory Therapy, or Electroneurodiagnostic program required
- Associate's degree in health sciences preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of clinical experience in a Sleep Center required
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist
- Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT)Â OR
- Sleep Disorder Specialist
- National Board for Respiratory Therapy Care
- State licensure in Polysomnographic Technology or Respiratory Care required where applicableÂ
- Iowa board of Respiratory Care and Polysomnography (IBRC)
- Illinois Department Of Financial & Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH)
- Iowa Board of Respiratory Care and Polysomnography (IBRC)
