MRI Technologist (ARRT-MR) – Diagnostic Imaging Technician - MRI

Overview

MDPerm is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to support military healthcare operations at Fort Drum, New York. This government contractor position provides diagnostic imaging services to active-duty service members, military families, and other authorized beneficiaries at a modern Military Treatment Facility.

Schedule & Work Hours

  • Full-Time
  • Monday – Friday
  • Day Shift (Clinic Hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
  • On-Site Position

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality MRI examinations following physician orders and established imaging protocols.
  • Operate MRI equipment safely while maintaining compliance with MRI safety standards and facility policies.
  • Screen patients and all personnel entering MRI restricted areas to ensure safe imaging practices.
  • Position patients appropriately and adjust imaging parameters to obtain diagnostic-quality studies.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures and provide education regarding the examination process.
  • Process and transmit digital images for interpretation by radiologists.
  • Accurately document imaging procedures within the electronic medical record and radiology systems.
  • Monitor patients throughout imaging procedures and recognize adverse reactions or medical emergencies.
  • Perform routine quality assurance and equipment checks in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and facility requirements.
  • Identify imaging artifacts or equipment issues and coordinate maintenance through appropriate government channels.
  • Support MRI safety education for healthcare personnel as requested.
  • Follow all Military Treatment Facility policies, infection control standards, and patient privacy requirements.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program or approved equivalent pathway.
Certification and Credentials
  • Current certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Diagnostic Radiographer [R] and Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist [MR].
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA or American Red Cross).
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Experience

  • Minimum one (1) year of MRI experience within the past two years.
  • Experience performing diagnostic MRI procedures in a hospital or outpatient imaging environment preferred.
